You want to know what makes this band tick?  Read the bios below and you'll get an idea of where these guys are coming from.

Dave Sherman (guitar/vocals)

Dave Sherman has been playing the blues for 48 years. He was instrumental in starting The Rhythm Masters, The Smokin' Presstones, Little Jr. & The Hitmen, Dave Sherman & The Nightcrawlers, East West, and The Smokin’ Polecats. He also held down the lead guitar slot in The Uptown Rhythm Kings and Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes. Dave learned his craft from the masters, backing up blues greats Earl King, Hubert Sumlin, Jimmy Rogers, Otis Rush, Nappy Brown, and James Cotton. This depth of experience gives Dave his sound, and prompted William Tripplett, of Washingtonian Magazine, to call him "a virtuoso of electric blues".

Rob Martin (guitar/vocals)

Throughout Rob’s long musical career he has performed in numerous bands playing all styles of music. Early on, he played lead guitar in the all-original band ‘Edge City’. They played in Annapolis, Baltimore, and DC area clubs like The Bayou, The Famous Ballroom, The Brickhouse and more. After that he played lead guitar in various bands performing pop music, country and classic rock.

In 2017 Rob started playing lead guitar for Ken Farmer & The Authenticators.  Rob said, “this has opened up a new genre of music for me -- The Blues”. He became exposed to the blues through his membership in the Central Virginia Blues Society. Then Rob, Andy, and Dave played at a driveway jam at Rob’s house.  They dug playing blues together and the rest is history.

Andy Burdetsky (bass/vocals)

Andy Burdetsky has been playing bass for over 45 years.  Born and raised in the Washington DC area, he had many influences in his early years, including local bands such as The Nighthawks and Danny Gatton.  This is where he found his love for Rhythm and Blues.

Andy was a member of the popular DC blues band, All Points Bulletin from 1982-1984 where he was fortunate enough to meet and perform with some great local players, including Karl Stoll.

Andy moved to central Virginia in 2004 and helped establish the Central Virginia Blues Society (CVBS).  He volunteered as President of the CVBS for almost 10 years, while also performing with Fatty Lumpkin & The Love Hogs.  In 2012 Andy helped form the Jon Spear Band, which released 4 albums and performed at many high-profile venues.

In 2021, Andy, Rob Martin, Dave Sherman and Lance Foster, formed The Don’t Look Up Band .  The band focusses on many styles of blues and vintage Rock n Roll, including some original recordings.

Lance Foster (drums/vocals)

Lance Foster has been playing in a variety of bands for the past 45 years. He has played everything from the animal clubs to country clubs to festivals. In college, he was a founding member of the Convertibles, a band that covered Allman Brothers, the Dead, and classic rock. They played clubs, colleges, and frats up and down the mid-atlantic region. He then played with the late-great Tony Roberts Band.  After that he played Texas Roadhouse music with SlingBlade for 7 years and recorded 3 cds. The next 7 years Lance played with Ace’s Wild, and Fatty Lumpkin & the Love Hogs (1 CD).  That’s where  Lance got tight with bassist and best buddy Andy Burdetsky, bass player for the Don’t Look Up Blues band. Lance is a graphic designer, by day, and does all the bands great art work.
